Early Learning Curriculum

Our school readiness program sets a strong foundation and prepares children for a smooth transition into Kindergarten.

A strong foundation.
A smooth transition.

Our school readiness program sets a strong foundation and prepares children for a smooth transition into Kindergarten with established and secure relationships with staff and their peers to achieve the best possible learning and social experiences.

Special Events and
Transition Program

During the year, special events will take place which may include visits from members of the community, on-site ‘incursions’ and wider school community events. The cost of special events is included in the fee structure for the year.

Our program is rich in opportunities to integrate your child into the wider school community. From the Toddler room, children will begin visiting the larger school learning areas. During their year in Prep, children will participate in an extensive Integration program to prepare them for Kindergarten. Integration activities include Library lessons in the iCentre, Kindergarten classroom visits, playground integration in the COLA and attending Chapel.

National Quality
Framework (NQF)

As a registered Early Childhood Service, we operate under the National Quality Framework.

We are currently rated as ‘Meeting National Quality Standards’ and implement the Early Years Learning Framework as the foundation for our curriculum, programming and planning.

Assessment
and Reporting

Formal parent/teacher interviews are offered to parents twice a year. Other interviews can be arranged during the year, by appointment.

Age-appropriate skills are assessed through regular play-based experiences and group times. A summary of each child’s progress is made available for parents twice a year, as well as informal communications daily.

Storypark is used to provide regular communication, as well as photo updates about each child’s week and areas of development that are being focused on.
