Penrith Christian School operates an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service to provide our school's families with fun and exciting programs including Before & After School Care and Vacation Care.
We are passionate about having consistency with our values, beliefs, what we stand for, and always ensuring students feel nurtured, safe and can thrive beyond the classroom.
We combine active games with structured and unstructured play, quiet time and healthy snacks, and we are proud to ensure that the same values and beliefs we have at school are consistent right through our OSHC service.
PLEASE NOTE: Outside School Hours Care is only for Kindergarten to Year 6 students of PCS.
As a registered Early Childhood Service, we operate under the National Quality Framework.
We are currently rated as ‘Meeting National Quality Standards’ and implement the My Time Our Place Framework as the foundation for our curriculum, programming and planning. Visit https://www.acecqa.gov.au for more information.
Children lead the experiences at their OSHC service and thus the program is based on children’s interests.
On a daily basis, staff post about the day and the activities and intentional learnings that took place on that day for parents and families to see.
Storypark is used to provide regular communication, as well as photo updates about each child’s areas of development that are being focused on.
The program is based on children’s interests and experiences and is posted every week for parents and families to view and provide feedback to help improve our service delivery. It implements the My Time, Our Place Framework and allows for children to join and initiate play and leisure activities. Children are given a wide range of unstructured play time.
Our program includes the licensed areas which include the sports centre, basketball courts and most recently, the adventure playground.
The program in each classroom is led by experienced Early Childhood Educators. Under the leadership of the School Principal, the operation of OSHC is supervised by the OSHC Director, who works alongside leading the team.
PCS OSHC is a 100-place centre that offers a high educator to child ratio in each session we offer. Each session has a Responsible Person onsite every day.
