In preparing our seniors as holistic and responsible citizens, PCS invited the RYDA Safe Driving workshop to present to all of Year 10 and 12 last Friday.

The three-hour workshop covered Road Choices, Speeding and Stopping, Driving Choices and Consequences. The students heard from road accident survivors, workshopped consequences of choices and were shown demonstrations of how speeding impacts car control and stopping reaction times.

A few reflections on the day included:

“The demonstration of the car speeding and stopping gave me perspective on how difficult it can be to stop suddenly in different circumstances.” Arianna.

“Hearing about the woman who had survived a serious road accident helped me to appreciate how serious the consequences of our choices can be and also how driving when tired is not ok.” Kohen
