An important element in developing students as responsible citizens includes providing opportunities to develop skills that benefit the broader school. Leadership in Junior School is encouraged early on, with students being appointed as ‘line leaders’ for the week in Kindy to Year Two. This involves taking on some responsible tasks daily as well being a sensible leader to take the class to and from the classroom.
As Year Four is the senior grade in Junior School, we encourage boys and girls who feel they can serve their fellow students and the school, to be involved in a leadership group. These students are regularly called upon to do a variety of public and not so public roles which assist teachers and their peers. Other Year Four students are also more generally relied upon as peer leaders and also buddies to Kindergarten, to demonstrate maturity and helpfulness in day to day school life.
