Year 8 2017 - above State average in Science

The PCS Year 8 cohort of 2017 achieved above State average results in the Validation of Assessment for Learning and Individual Development (VALID) program. The Program provides online end-of-Stage assessments for the Science key learning area. The assessments assist schools to monitor student achievement and inform planning, programming and assessment practice. The test is mandatory for State Schools and optional for Private Schools.  Over 55,000 students in NSW took part.


Congratulations to the following students who achieved a Band 6 (the highest band) result for at least one section of the exam: Benjamin Armstrong, Henry Beard, Zane Brady, Mitchell Cook, Micayla Dillon, Sienna Edwards, Paige Foley, Emma Frith, Caleb Kraus, Franco Licastro, Ellen Margetts, Thomas Nelson, Imogen Rogers and Brock Stinson.


The sections included in the exam were: extended response questions; knowledge and understanding; planning, designing and conducting experiments; problem solving and communication.
