On Thursday 26 October 2017, Year 3 travelled by bus to the Blue Gum Lodge in Springwood for their camp.
The day started by inviting God to be a part of our camp and talking about the theme for the day, ‘The Fruit of the Spirit’.
Throughout the day we discussed how to show others our fruit and live the way Jesus would want us to live. We did activities such bush cooking, bush rambling and building a catapult. The students also had some time to play games in the sport centre, oval, games room and tennis court.
We enjoyed lovely home cooked meals and snacks, and returned to school to settle down for the evening. The next morning we had breakfast and throughout the day we played games and did many fun activities.
Here are some reflections from the Year 3 students about camp:
On Thursday I learnt that you can make a catapult without big, heavy tools. On Friday I liked ‘Minute to Win it’. The food was so good, my favourite was Subway.
We did an adventurous bushwalk and saw all kinds of flowers. On the way back to camp we saw a Lyrebird doing its dance, which was so cool.
My highlight was that I had many highlights! I really enjoyed talking about the Fruit of the Spirit.
My favourite was waking up from the sleepover and the teachers providing us with food.
My favourite was bush walking. There was a little bridge that we crossed and we had to say something nice to the person behind us.
The camp was really fun. I liked when we got free time, because there were lots of different activities. There was tennis, an obstacle course, sports hall and you could play in the games room.
I am grateful for going on camp this year, and I loved talking about the Fruit of the Spirit.
I liked bush cooking the most. We cooked damper and I also liked the view of the Blue Mountains.
