Year 2 Going Full Speed Ahead
What a fabulous start to Year 2! The Golden Retrievers and the Polar Bears are well and truly in the swing of school and are already achieving some fantastic learning goals!
We have welcomed some new students to our grade and they already feel like family.
We also welcomed some new class pets that relate to our Science topic of 'Watch it grow'! We have been using all our science skills of predicting, developing ideas, defining information, organising and investigating the changes that take place in the life cycle of a mealworm and a stick insect!
Our reading has really begun to improve as we take time every day to practise our fluency, accuracy and comprehension in our groups.
In Health, we have been learning all about 'Bouncing Back, and building up our resilience. Our most favourite lesson involved making a pair of rose-coloured glasses so we could choose to look on the bright side of life.
Our budding artists have really had some time to shine, and have played and explored with lots of mixed media products. Our classrooms are looking amazing, displaying some of these sensational pieces.
We have loved going to and hosting Chapel. It’s the highlight of our week to stop and take time to worship all together and learn something amazing from the Bible.
Our new Junior School iCentre is up and running and Mrs Brady has worked hard to create interesting and informative lessons in our Library times. We have had daily opportunities to get out our classroom technology, and this week we created and published a document on an Information Report we had completed in Writing.
Well done Year 2…. What a fabulous grade you are, and we are so excited about all the adventures we will share together this year.
