PCS 2019 NAPLAN Results
I am pleased to write to you about our recent NAPLAN results. This year we have seen some improvement in our NAPLAN averages as a result of some intentional intervention over the last few years.
As you may be aware, the School has implemented a 5-Year Strategic Plan (available on our website). We are currently completing the fourth year of implementing this Plan.
In 2017, Mr Philip, our Head of Informatic Pedagogy, presented a detailed analysis of our NAPLAN results over a 10-year period, identifying key areas for targeted intervention. From this, our Senior Executive staff developed a Numeracy and Literacy improvement plan.
I would especially like to congratulate Ms Robinson, Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning, who took the main responsibility for driving change and improvement in this area as part of her role, together with Mrs Jenny Mahoney, Head of Spiritual Development and Curriculum Continuity. They jointly provided solid research-based direction and strategies for our teaching staff over the past two years to work towards achieving our goals in this area.
This letter shows the 2019 cohort’s average NAPLAN scores as compared to State Averages in the NAPLAN Tests for this year. Teaching staff will commence Term 4 with the aim of setting new programs to augment the positive improvements we have seen.
