Kindergarten Role Models

The Kindy children have been waiting a long time to show just how much they have grown up over this year.

We had our first Storytime for the children entering Kindergarten in 2021 last Tuesday and the current Kindy children were so excited to finally be the ‘Big Kids’. They showed the children just how important it is to listen to learn as they heard one of Ms Allen’s favourite stories being read -Guess The Baby.

Following instructions has been a huge part of the Kindergarten program this year and a fun way we have done this is through movement activities. Next year’s Kindergarten children particularly enjoyed joining in with these activities which included ‘Move and Freeze’ and ‘The Bean Game’. It was wonderful to see the progress in the Kindy children’s fundamental movement skills including hopping, jumping, skipping, balancing, throwing and catching.

They were fantastic role models and these skills of listening and following instructions are essential to supporting them as they move into Year 1 next year. The children are looking forward to the next Storytime where they again can share their skills and knowledge with the future Kindies.
