Introducing Sharon Tuft
Being the first face most people encounter when they come to the School, I’m sure most of our PCS family would have had an opportunity to meet me; however, you may not know much about me so I’ll share a little of my world.
I was born in Penrith and have lived in the area all my life. I attended Kingswood South Public and Kingswood High where recent PCS retirees, Mrs Janis Jackson and Mr Bruce Nevill, taught. I have been a committed Christian from a young age attending GFS (Girls Friendly Society) and Sunday School at St Phillips Church in Kingswood. Since then I have attended Imagine Nations, Hillsong and LifeSource churches.
I live for my family, and have been blessed with two amazing sons Benjamin and Joshua, who I’m extremely proud of, a beautiful daughter-in-law Hayley, who attended PCS, and a long-awaited, and very precious and adorable granddaughter, Aria Joy.
I’m passionate for the cause of Christian Education and am eternally grateful for the ministry God has entrusted me with at PCS. It’s been such a privilege to serve this community I call family for the past 19 years, and to see it grow and flourish into the amazing school and community it is today. As sad as it was to farewell Mr Nevill after working together for 18.5 years, I’m excited for this next chapter under the leadership of our new Principal, Mrs Tracey Deal.
On a more personal note, I enjoy the great outdoors, being up close with nature and long to explore all the wonders of God’s creations. I’ve conquered the Overland Track in Tasmania, the Grand Traverse Track in New Zealand, the Six Foot Track in the Blue Mountains, the ‘Bloody Long Walk’ from Palm Beach to Manly, and the walk to Machu Picchu in South America. I have a love of waterfalls and have been fortunate to experience Niagara Falls in Canada and Iguazu Falls in Argentina. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience many nations, cultures and cuisines. Touring Israel and walking in the steps of Christ was a life-changing experience, and I’m so looking forward to visiting Germany this May for the Passion of Christ play, which is only performed every ten years, in Oberammergau. Putting all this aside, the most memorable moment by far was the birth of Aria, who was born whilst I was touring the wonders of Machu Picchu.
Thank you for entrusting your children into our care; know they are truly loved and nurtured, and our desire is for them to be all God created them to be. I pray the Lord will bless you, and you will know His love and peace as we partner together in educating our leaders of tomorrow!
