Funds for Farmers: Friday 7 September 2018
Thank you for all the various ways that you help your children to support missions causes in our School. Apart from planned projects, we like to keep some room to respond to issues that arise around us. There has been significant concern in our community for the needs in rural Australia related to the extended drought conditions. Of course, you may be already doing things to support farmers.
As a School, we have decided to focus on farmers on Friday 7 September, 2018, with an opportunity for students to DRESS AS A FARMER in jeans, flannel shirts, boots/sneakers and make a $5 DONATION.
In addition, for students in Years 5-12 only, there will be an opportunity to purchase a sausage sizzle ($2) or a can of drink ($2) on the day.
All funds raised on the day will be given to the Salvation Army's Drought Relief campaign which provides relief to individuals within communities, as well as pastoral support. Let's join together as a school community to make a difference for those most affected by the drought. And let's continue to pray for rain – and, for God's hope to sustain individuals and communities in rural Australia.
