VERY early on Tuesday morning, eight intrepid Year 8 students plus one brave parent, joined me to head off to the Da Vinci Decathlon at Knox Grammar at Wahroonga. The students were filled with excitement as we journeyed on three trains to reach our destination.
The competition saw our students competing with over 1200 other students from all over the state and from public schools, other independent schools, selective schools and prestigious grammar schools (It must be said that there some fancy blazers on show, but none as good looking as our PCS uniform).
The competition questions were of an incredibly challenging nature, to which all of our students acquitted themselves so well. The teamwork, ingenuity and creativity displayed by our team was very impressive. To say that I was most proud of our guys would be an understatement.
In the end, we didn’t come home with any certificates, but we came home having demonstrated wonderful PCS grit and determination. I certainly hope that some of the team are keen to compete again next year, and I would like to extend the invitation for other students to express their interest for next year as well.
As my first PCS excursion, I couldn’t be happier. Each and every one of the students did themselves, their families and PCS proud. Well done to Chloe, Claire, Kiahna, Elizabeth, Jessica, Theodore, Mark and Sean. Plus special thanks to Mrs Weeks as well.
Great job team.
