Penrith Christian School is a well established and vibrant Christian community, providing an exciting and innovative learning environment for over 750 Preschool – Year 12 students, inclusive of an Early Childhood Centre registered for 50 students per day, in our 21st Century Learning Facility at Orchard Hills.

 

Our Early Childhood Centre has an excellent reputation in our community for providing high quality, inclusive education and care. We offer a high staff to child ratio and are rated as ‘exceeding national quality standard’.

 

We are seeking applications from committed Christians, active in their local church, to join our team in 2018 as a maternity leave replacement working three days per week (0.6FTE). Our school requires an experienced Early Childhood Teacher, confident in leading the Preschool Class (3 year olds), working collaboratively with the other educators to enable the children to develop knowledgeable and confident self-identities as they approach Kindergarten. The successful applicant will have a passion for engaging students' love of learning and fostering the development of each child through the Early Years Learning Framework and a thorough working knowledge of the National Quality Framework.

 

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)

  • NESA Registration

  • Current Working With Children Check approval number 

  • Current First Aid qualifications

  • An active Christian faith and current church involvement

  • Ability to act as a positive role model and example of Christ’s love to children, families and colleagues

  • Thorough understanding of both NQF and the ELYF

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent personal presentation

  • Collaborative, innovative and effective practice in a current context

  • A demonstrated capacity to work as a team member and play an integral role as part of the broader School Community

  • Highly motivated, flexible and reliable

  • Passionate about maintaining and implementing a high quality school readiness program that continues to exceed expectations of NQS

  • Work closely with Executive Teachers to support your classroom team to build their skills and competencies
