SPECIAL EVENTS AND TRANSITION PROGRAM
During the year, special events will take place which may include visits from members of the community, on-site ‘incursions’ and wider school community events. The cost of special events is included in the fee structure for the year. Our program is rich in opportunities to integrate your child into the wider school community. From Preschool, children will begin visiting the Junior School, Middle School and Senior School learning areas. During their year in Prep, children will participate in an extensive Integration program to prepare them for Kindergarten. Integration activities include Library lessons in the iCentre, Kindergarten classroom visits, playground integration in the Junior School and attending Chapel.
NATIONAL QUALITY FRAMEWORK (NQF)
As a registered Early Childhood Service, we operate under the National Quality Framework. We are currently rated as ‘Exceeding National Quality Standards’ and implement the Early Years Learning Framework which, together with our specific PCS Biblical Studies Outcomes, underpins our programs and curriculum within Early Childhood.
ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING
Parent Teacher Interviews are offered to parents twice a year. Other interviews can be arranged during the year by appointment. Age-appropriate skills are assessed through regular play-based experiences and scheduled group times. A summary of each child’s progress is made available for parents twice a year as well as informal communications daily.
