COVID-19 Update

We appreciate your patience and understanding during these times of uncertainty in a constantly changing environment. I write to you today to advise you of further measures to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission in school communities.

Please see below, the updated measures our school will be undertaking in line with the most recent requirements from NSW Government Health.

The following measures have been effective from Tuesday 18 August 2020:

  • Parents/carers must be reminded regularly that students must not come to school if unwell. Even with very mild symptoms.

  • Students absent or sent home due to flu like symptoms need to be tested, even mild symptoms of COVID-19.

  • Students must NOT return to school until they return a negative COVID-19 result and are symptoms free.

  • Teachers should be vigilant in recognising if any students are exhibiting flu like symptoms and refer any students to sick bay where they will be isolated, then sent home.

  • Schools MUST sight the negative COVID-19 test prior to allowing students to return to school – please send your test results to: sarah.wildman@pcs.nsw.edu.au Mrs Wildman has a register of students that have been sent home with symptoms and therefore require a negative test clearance to return to school.

  • Please go to the Health Direct Link: https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/coronavirus or call the Australian Government's National Coronavirus Helpline on 1800 020 080 for further information regarding any specific questions you may have.

Other General Measures that require adherence:

  • School facilities and visitors to the school site are aware of the physical distancing, health and hygiene measures required by the school, and receive written confirmation of this understanding. This document has been in place for many months now at reception as people sign in.

  • Parents and carers who need to be on site for canteen or uniform shop purposes must sign the visitor acknowledgement form.

  • Non-essential adults are still not permitted on school grounds or at school events. This includes parents and carers except for face-to-face parent/teacher meetings that are essential (e.g. to discuss disciplinary or other welfare matters).

Yours in Christ
