PCS Preschool Program offers children aged 3-4 years an opportunity to encounter a broad range of learning experiences. Preschool runs alongside the routines and programs of Prep School, enabling a smooth transition into Preparatory School the following year.
The PCS Prep School Program builds throughout the year to provide children aged 4-5 years increased opportunities to engage in school readiness and integration experiences as they transition into Kindergarten the following year.
PCS Early Childhood is a great opportunity for children to develop friendships, explore their interests, build confidence and enable a sense of belonging.
Each day begins with Devotions as an opportunity for children to discover the joy of learning all about God, His creation, and how much He loves us. Children explore their interests in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Technology, Creative Arts and other Key Learning Area within play contexts. Our School Readiness program provides children with the opportunity to develop their cognitive, social, emotional, language, fine motor and gross motor skills through age-appropriate group times and play-based experiences. We implement an enquiry-based curriculum approach to instil a love of discovery and learning. We encourage even our youngest of students to be 21st century learners, developing dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity.
OPERATING HOURS AND ATTENDANCE
PCS Early Childhood Operates from 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, 48 weeks a year. Our core Preschool and Prep School programs run from 8.30 am to 2.45 pm each day during school terms. We ask that your child is in attendance during these core times. Attendance before or after these hours – as well as in the school holiday periods – is optional, but included in your School Fees for each term, should you need extended care.
PCS runs a three day (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday) and a two day (Thursday/Friday) Preschool and Prep School Program. Our expectation is that children enrolled in Preschool at PCS will attend Prep School the following year, and Kindergarten at PCS the year after.
Please enquire about our competitive fee structure. Parents are generally billed for a 12-week period, four times a year. As an approved Early Childhood Service, government rebates are available in line with Long-Day-Care Centres. Please contact the Accounts Department for further information.
PCS Early Childhood offers a high educator-to-child ratio. The program in each classroom is led by a Degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher who is assisted by Early Childhood Educators. Under the leadership of the School Principal, the operation of PCS Early Childhood is supervised by the Head of Early Childhood as well as an Educational Leader (Deputy Head) who works alongside and leads the educating team.
