21st Century Learning

21st Century Learning

Senior School students are encouraged to develop 21st century learning skills which will equip them for the ever-changing world into which they were born. These include: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Global Citizenship, as well as competency in using a wide range of technologies.

We are currently developing a model of teaching called Project Based Learning (PBL) in some of the Senior School classes. This involves asking the class a ‘real world’ driving question, which they have to answer using the above skills. To answer this question the students become investigators, scientists, researchers, historians, composers, movie directors, journalists, reporters, etc. and present their findings to a ‘public audience’ using technology to enhance their presentations.

Samples of exciting PBL work will feature regularly in this section.
